FREE Proofreading Services - Calling all Writers!

As some of you may know, I am trying to start a career as a freelance proofreader and editor. At this time, I am willing to offer free proofreading services in order to build my resume. I will proofread up to 20 pages of your work at no cost to you. The only thing I ask in return is that I will be able to include your name and your work on my resume. If you are happy with the results, I ask that you would write a short blurb for my testimonial page. Please note that I will "proofread" only. By proofreading I mean checking a document for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation and typos. Of course I will check for consistency in formatting, extra spaces, etc.

First come ... first serve! I will get to as many as possible within the next 3-4 weeks.

Karen Schoen's Book - Proceeds to Rescue

Karen Schoen wrote this fun and freespirited book, A Little Book of Cavalier Wisdom, based on the every day lives of her dogs, Meg and Snapper. Karen's humor and wit really compliment her beautiful photography. This is a fun read! Karen gives Meg and Snapper the voice to impart, upon the reader, the wisdom that every dog possesses! If you are a dog lover, you know how much you can learn from your dog. If nothing else, pure love. Karen has graciously decided to donate the proceeds to rescue.

Update

Hello all! I thought I would check in with a little update. As I've been spending time away from my first novel, I've been working on another one. It's called Esther and it's a bit of a Scarlet Letter type story. Who doesn't LOVE forbidden love? Now I am going to spend some time away from this novel and go back to my first one. I’ve also been reading like a fiend because, well, I believe that the best writers are avid readers. Lately I’ve been into Kate Morton, thanks to Scott.

Unfortunately, I've been very much out of the loop here, but I see that so many of you have landed agents or publishing contracts. Congratulations to all of you who are realizing your dreams. I know that it takes a lot of hard work and determination. It’s very encouraging to those of us who are working toward that goal. I have had to put 110% of myself into my job for quite a while, so that has been quite a road block to my writing. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to really spend some time writing soon.
