That is one cute picture! :DErg. Write anyway? I find that it helps my block if I just stop and listen to the story. Sometimes I'm blocked because I took a wrong turn somewhere, and other times it's simply because my characters have gone on strike. It is then that I put them in the worst possible situation and let them strike themselves out of that. >:)
OMGosh he's so darn cute! Plus, I ditto Danyelle ;)
If I'm really blocked, I go to my extensive CD collection, pull one out at random, pop it in the player, press play, pull out my handy pen and paper . . . and write something about each song I hear. I've gotten some great ideas this way, and it normally clears the blockage. In fact, I wrote a short story from beginning to end based on a CD. Not bad, not bad at all.Lastly, when in doubt, just write . . . anything. Write about writer's block, how frustrating it is, how it brings you down, how it's the bane of your existence, and how you just want to stomp it to bits . . . tiny, tiny, tiny bits that can never be put together again and . . .: )S
Sadly I am 100% there myself. Maybe it's just the time of year????
Great pic.Sometimes writing can make you a little sick - so just vomit words onto the page.Wait, that's not very inspirational - oh well, it's the best I can do on the spot - early in the morning. ;)
My advice, for what it's worth, is to just sit down and make yourself start working, no matter how painful it is. Writing is a habit, not a mystical state of being, and we can fall out of the habit when we've stopped writing for too long. It took me nearly a month to talk myself into doing this last round of revisions, and the first week or so of actual work wasn't pretty or very productive. But you work through that phase and then find your rhythm again and remember that writing feels good and that's why you love to do it.
Force yourself to write. Even if it's stupid. Even if it's not right for the story. Even if you know you're going to end up deleting it all.Just.Write.You can always edit later.Good luck!
Rah, Rah, siss, boom, bah! It's so true that it's a habit we work toward or fall out of. Go! Fight! Write! Woohoo!
When stuck, go and read other people's blogs and write comments. Works for me.
Just write. Forcing yourself to write will remove the "block." Just write. Write about the room you are sitting in right now, or write about what you had for breakfast, or write about what happened on Monday. Whatever, it doesn't matter what you write about, just write. OK, I'm going to go write now. :-)
It is then that I put them in the worst possible situation and let them strike themselves out of that. Work from home India
