About Me

English teacher and aspiring writer sets out to publish a novel in a world full of English teachers and aspiring writers. Still she types away at her manuscript, minds her punctuation and hopes that her descriptive adjectives and eloquent prose may one day evoke emotion in someone besides herself. On a more serious note (eh um). I have a BA in Humanities from Florida State University and an MA in Liberal Studies / English Literature from University of Central Florida. I currently teach College Composition, Literature, and Critical Thinking and Writing.

Novel II

~Esther~ Genre - Historical Fiction Esther takes place in an antebellum southern town where life is centered around cotton mills, slavery, and the church. Having grown up as the intellectual of the family, Esther strives to find her way in a world where women are expected to be wives and mothers. Life takes a turn when the town’s reverend mysteriously dies and a young reverend, Edward Pridmore, takes over the church. Esther quickly learns that her life isn’t what it seems. She is forced into marriage with a man that she abhors, and is forbidden to be with the man she really loves. When the town is plagued with rumors of secret societies and political unrest, Esther is whisked away into exile where being with the man she loves causes her to question everything that she has ever believed. When her family secrets are revealed, Esther must risk everything for the sake of happiness. Word Count (WIP)- 55,000

Novel I

~The Heart is Lonely Still~ Genre- Women's Lit The Heart is Lonely Still is an emotionally and spiritually engaging novel about an aging Kate Harrington who looks back on her life, tempestuous relationships, and on a now estranged daughter with whom she wishes to make amends. In the backdrop of 1960’s Italy and England, Kate is whisked away by two passionate love affairs, including the elusive Byronic hero Henry Clarke and the hippie writer Jude Matthews, that lead her into the safe arms of John Clement, but that haunt her for the rest of her life. Word Count - Currently 75,000 - First draft finished! Undergoing a major overhaul.
