Oh gosh, that's next to impossible in my case. My MC has curly red hair, something I don't really see that often. Maybe that girl from "The Notebook".

I love your choices!

I look in the mirror. Most of my characters are a partial reflection of myself.

Mariah - I am SURE there are some young actresses put there with red curly hair! :-)

Martin - Even the women? :-D I know what you mean..same here for sure! I just wanted to see them in 3D!

I very rarely have distinct pictures of my characters in my mind (a weakness of mine: I struggle describing them).

Most recently, though, in my MG WIP, I had two characters with sources from actors: Nathan Fillion and Audrey Hepburn.

This is a cool idea ... I'll have to think about this and see what sort of "casting" I can do : )

Ooh, I love Colin Firth! I'm scared that if I did this exercise right now I'd end up casting Gerard Butler as a 16-year-old. Must wait until my obsession dies down. At least a little.

LitGirl01 - you have too much time on your hands!

Well, when they make a movie of my book . . . I seriously have no clue. I know what they look like in my mind, but would have a hard time finding actual photos of them.

I also agree with Martin - my characters are a partial reflection of myself . . . well, at least the male one. ; )

Beth - it's great to have visuals. It helps me with description. PS...I was bored at work!

KLo - I can't wait to see! :-D

Lisa and Laura - LOL! Weren't we going to stalk him? :-D

Scott - That's...Litgirl, dost thou hath too much time on thy hands? By the male one....do you mean the margarita drinking gladiator?

Oh, awesome! I LOVE that I can see how you see them. That's not how I envisioned Kate. No matter how many times you said her hair was dark, I just saw her as blond blond blond. Hmmm. :D

Colin Firth as Henry? Hmmmm, that's interesting! The others are SPOT on for me!

That's a great cast for your characters. :) You already saw mine.

Haha, just the picture of Colin Firth now makes me want to read your novel.

This sounds creepy? I usually browse DeviantArt for original pieces. I prefer paintings and drawings to real pictures and real actors. When I assign an actor/actress to a character, I am afraid that the personality traits associated with that person subconsciously influence my portrayal of the fictional character. And also, drawings have that fictional, dreamy feel to them that I like.

Michelle - why did I knowww that you weren't going to buy Colin Firth as Henry!! LOL I always pictured Mr.Darcy gone bad! You know you love Henry!!
Ps...Kate's hair is dark. hehe Love that you could visualize them.

Cindy - I did see yours! :-D Thanks for the GREAT idea! Not the first I've gotten from you.

Icy - I see what you mean. Somehow, they didn't influence the behaviors of my characters too much. You are welcome to be a beta reader! ;-)

Courtney - I'm hoping you are writing the paper for my class! :-D

Margarita Drinking Gladiator? OMG, I've just found the next great character I can write about. Thanks for the inspiration! Too funny.

I'll have you know that my gladiators like full, overflowing pints of a good, strong ale. The Emperor, on the other hand, has declared margaritas the drink of royalty . . . thus, why I drink them (and you, of course)! : )

Oooh! Colin Firth AND Jude Law. Where can I buy my ticket to your movie premier??

Good question. Faces to my characters. I knew all along that I'd want Robin Williams as Iwebo Aiyetoro (a priest), and possibly Daniel Day Lewis as Ted. But the three main women characters have me stumped.

Scott- LOL!!! Royalty eh? But of course! :-)

Ann - I wish it was a movie! LOL They are HAWT! Your cast sounds great too! I always wonder how you guys come up with those interesting names. That's true creativity! :-)

You know what? I don't see mine in actors, but in people I've met in my life. One of my favorite characters looks like a boy who happened to be a professional soccer player and was my neighbor. I didn't know I had a crush on him 16 years ago, but now that my main character has his face and his name, I think that maybe I did :)

Yamile... I have a minor character named Edward who is modled after one of my former students. :-)

Thank god I'm not the only one who does this! My pictures were a bit big, but ... I thought I was being crazy when I did it. Still haven't read any more of your blog besides the latest two posts, but so far it's looking good.
