Printed Manuscript

Baby step one, it's printed. Oh yeah, look at me go. Here it is closed and sitting on my end table...

Here it is open and sitting on my end table...

It is kind of nice to hold it in my hands. It makes it feel more real. Now I take deep breaths as I prepare to read. Oh yeah, and edit. Or, maybe I could have something to eat, watch a movie, take a shower, and then edit.

It feels so old school doesn't it? I love seeing my work in print! It's strange how effectively you can edit that way verses on the computer.

Yours looks so nice and pretty...mine is a paper mess!!! But the 2nd draft will be prettier...maybe I'll even put it in a binder? hmmmmmm....

Blogger + Inserting Pictures = Major Frustration . . . which is why I normally don't put pictures on my blog. ; )

Congrats on the printing. You sound an awful lot like me when it's time to edit. Gee, I really think the grout in the show needs to be scrubbed with a miniscule toothbrush before I begin that editing.

Forget the excuses (okay, the lyrics to Jesus Christ Superstar just popped into my mind - I'm the source of all information that is pretty much useless, but I'm good to have on your side in a trivia match . . . unless I freeze) and get to editing. We all want to raise a margarita in your honor once your published.

Yay for your printed manuscript! It feels so much realer when it's off of the computer screen and sitting in your hands.

Yay for you!!!! Isn't that awesome?! I can't wait until I start printing...I love the sound of the printer chugging out pages and pages....but I hate the weight of all those words I have to edit!

Oh, I love your hard copy - it's so pretty, and makes me want to print one of my own MS.

Unfortunately, I am too cheap to print mine out except for once in the editing process, but I really should because you pick up so many more typos and other errors that way!

Traci said...

Beth - I hear ya!! Totally! I actually got a critique that made me want to edit today. :0) Cool! I sort of feel like it's a beginning. Like I'm back in the game!

Kate - I figured out that if I print it as a "draft", it doesn't use as much ink. I have plenty left. I feel like I can get more done with a printout. :-)
